#MusicalMonday: The Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa +

One of my many (and oldest) passions in life is music. I always liked to listen to them, to enjoy and sing along (and no, I’m not a good singer). There is a song for every phase of my life, Hannah Montana at 8, David Guetta at 12 (his songs played in every single party), Taylor Swift for High School, alongside to Martin Garrix (let’s just say that Animals played in every single P.E. class), and Dua Lipa in 2017.

Not sure if it is because of my star sign, my love for art or the fact that I’m naturally curious, but I love to search for new music. And because I like to see what other people are listening to, I decided to share some of the songs that I’m playing on repeat. Here are five of them:

The Chainsmokers feat. Kelsea Ballerini – This Feeling

I found out about this song via Reese Witherspoon’s Stories. And, since Elle Woods recommended it, I needed to listen. I fell in love for This Feeling in the first 30 seconds, the melody is sweet and it sticks to your head almost as fast as the lyrics. It is worth the play!

Silk City, Dua Lipa – Electricity

Dua Lipa is one of the best singers at the moment. She has an amazing voice and manages to be unique. Electricity is her new song, which she made in partnership with Silk City, the new group formed by Mark Ronson and Diplo (from Major Lazer, Jack U and LSD). There are big chances you have already listened to it, but, if not, press play!

Soran – Emma

One of my favorite things about streaming services is the fact that they suggest songs based on what you listen to. In my case this suggestions tend to be very diverse, since I’m that weird person that in one moment is listening to Tchaikovsky, and in the other is singing along to the High School Musical soundtrack. Emma was in a playlist suggested for me. At first I thought this might be another one of those songs I save but never listen to. But I was actually wrong. Replay. Replay. Replay…

Delaney Jane – Bad Habits

In the same playlist of Emma, there was Bad Habits. And, differently from the one above, I instantly knew this would be on replay for a while.

Elodie, Michele Bravi & Guè Pequeno – Nero Bali

Nero Bali is one of those few songs that I’m currently avoiding to listen to. Why? Because I don’t want to get tired of it. The algorithm made the best decision when it suggested this piece of art to me. I have been playing this song at least twice a day since I discovered it a couple months ago. And, besides making my ears smile, it makes me want to sing and dance every single time I press play!

#TBT: Madonna – Jump

I love my old-ish songs. Especially the ones from the 70s, 80s and 00s (+Elvis). One of my favorite scenes from The Devil Wears Prada (my favorite movie ever) is the one that plays Jump. For years I wanted to know which song was playing, and, thanks to the credits, I found out.

  • Which of these songs is your favorite? Let me know what you’ve been loving to listen to lately… xoxo
