The Venice Film Festival has been happening for the past 76 years. And, even though it was created to promote films, right now fashion calls as much (if not more) attention. Every year actors, supermodels and influencers go to Venice with the sole purpose of walking the red carpet and create content for brands. This might sound bad but it actually isn’t. At the same time we talk about what they are wearing, we end up promoting the movies. Sometimes.
Black, white, pink and blue were popular colors between the attendees. Zazie Beetz is giving a masterclass on red carpet dressing this week. Rodarte and Rosie Assoulin were some of the brands she chose for the events, but her best outfit yet is the amazing printed Valentino Couture dress. Kristen Stewart opted for a pink Chanel gown, which she paired with matching eyeshadow. Lily-Rose Depp went for a similar color palette in most events, and showed that classic pieces are not boring.
Sometimes red carpets imitate the daily life in a fancier way. Well, at least it was what happened here. The guests of the festival loved wearing black gowns, just like we do when it lacks creativity (or time, or because of our mood). Cate Blanchett has the perfect dress for a Monday morning; it is so perfect that Armani should win an award just for it. Another super fan of the color is Sara Sampaio, which added it even to her pink outfit.
But the Venice Film Festival is not made only of gowns and movies. Or suits. There are also more casual attires walking the streets. See Monica Bellucci and her Dior (#casual) dress. Or Tessa Thompson in her white dress.
This year the Venice Film Festival started on the 28th of July and will end on September 7.
